Game Review: World of Warcraft

World of Warcraft
World of Warcraft is an "old" favorite. I use to play this hours on end while in high school, and even dabbled a bit after high school. This was a big leap from browser based games, that's for sure.
While it was enjoyable, one can't help but notice that the game eventually starts repeating itself in certain areas, which makes for a bit of stale gaming. Especially when you reach the level cap and all you really have is grinding. Don't get me wrong. It's a good game. But there are those of us who just get bored of such things. However, if you really want to immerse yourself into an MMORPG, this is definitely one that will do the trick.
Of course, with this game, you have to buy every expansion that comes out, which is another reason I left the game. When you're paying a monthly subscription, why should you have to shell out more money for a game you're already paying for? Shouldn't they do like other games and allow you to download the expansions free of charge?
It would seem this has been a growing issue among the WoW community, both new and old. So much so that they've made it to where you're now allowed to play for free up to level 20. But after you hit level 20, you better be prepared to shell out what I remember as the monthly price of approximately $15 a month or just find another game to play. The customization isn't all that great either. But I'm one who prefers insanely diverse customization. Of course, I feel the amount of races and classes kind of makes up for it.
There are a total of 12 races, each divided up into two factions:
Alliance
- Draenei
- Dawrf
- Gnome
- Human
- Worgen
- Night Elf
Horde
- Blood Elf
- Tauren
- Orc
- Forsaken
- Troll
- Goblin
And of course, alongside the races are the 10 classes:
- Death Knight
(Available to all races) - Druid
(Night Elf, Worgen, Tauren, Troll) - Priest
(Dwarf, Draenei, Blood Elf, Night Elf, Worgen, Troll, Tauren, Forsaken, Goblin,Human, Gnome) - Warlock
(Human, Dwarf, Gnome, Worgen, Blood Elf, Goblin, Orc, Troll, Forsaken, - Paladin
(Draenei, Human, Tauren, Drawf, Blood Elf) - Rogue
(Dwarf, Worgen, Human, Goblin, Troll, Gnome, Night Elf, Blood Elf, Orc, Forsaken) - Warrior
(Available to all races) - Shaman
(Draenei, Goblin, Tauren, Dwarf, Orc, Troll) - Mage
(Dwarf, Human, Worgen, Goblin, Troll, Draenei, Gnome, Night Elf, Blood Elf, Orc,Forsaken) - Hunter
(Dwarf, Draenei, Blood Elf, Night Elf, Worgen, Troll, Tauren, Forsaken, Goblin,Human, Orc)
If you so decide that you'd like to give this game a try, then simply make an account, if you don't have one, and if I remember correctly, you can electronically purchase and download the latest expansion, which also has all the previous expansions. Also, the specifications are as follows:

I suppose this is more of a tutorial or an FAQ for computer specs and what's available. I don't blame you for not reviewing the entire game as we'd be here forever. Like most MMORPGs, World of Warcraft is grindy from Lv.1-85, and on the contrary, I believe the game changes (for the better) at endgame.
It's not the most original MMORPG around, but nor are most that are being released today. I have to admit, the expansions are expensive and we shouldn't be paying for them. But by doing this, I'm grateful that we're not being spammed with premium features. Because we pay, we get better account security and customer service. And the patches that we get free have quite a bit of content.
So if you're not playing it now, I recommend that you do and level a character to endgame - with Recruit a Friend, it'll take no longer than a week ^_^
